Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Red Head' - Fountain Grass

Pennisetum alopecuroides is a warm season perennial grass that grows in spreading clumps.  It has graceful foliage and fuzzy silvery-pinkish bottlebrush flower plumes which are dazzling when backlit from the sun.  They arch outwards like a fountain, hence the name.   Plant this grass near a patio or walkway.
'Red Head' is a cultivar producing the earliest and largest flower heads. They are beautiful purple plumes that persist through fall.
