Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln' - Fountain Grass

Pennisetum alopecuroides is a warm season perennial grass that grows in spreading clumps.  It has graceful foliage and fuzzy silvery-pinkish bottlebrush flower plumes which are dazzling when backlit from the sun.  They arch outwards like a fountain, hence the name.   Plant this grass near a patio or walkway.

'Hameln' cultivar is a smaller version of Fountain Grass. It is more compact and has shorter flower spike than the straight species.
