Panicum virgatum is a perennial warm season grass with a stiff, columnar, clump form that grows up to 3' throughout the season.  The green leaves turn yellow in autumn and then beige in winter and the flowers which appear in mid-summer are pink-tinged with an airy cloud-like appearance.
