• Arctostaphylos uva-ursi - Bearberry


    Bearberry is a small shrub often used as a groundcover. Evergreen leaves will turn bronze in the winter and the red berries will start in fall and last till spring. It is noted for its drought and salt tolerance making it ideal for the seaside landscape where it is useful for erosion control. Does best in full sun but can tolerate light shade. This is a slow grower, best to plant in mass. Excellent wildlife value.
